Ralph E. Holsworth, DO, MD

Dr. Holsworth has had a lifelong passion for science, medicine, and integrative health. From his early days as a physician, he witnessed serious gaps in traditional healthcare and its symptom-based approach and vowed to make a difference in healthcare and a lasting impact on all those he treated. Through his integrative and functional medicine practice, he incorporates a holistic, educational approach to guiding and helping his patients obtain optimum health.

Dr. Holsworth received his Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) in 1997 from The University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kansas City, MO. He is a board-certified osteopathic family physician having served rural and underserved regions of New Mexico and Colorado for over 25 years. He has practiced medicine in both hospital and private clinical practice and continues to serve as an Emergency Room Physician. With his special interest in integrative and functional medicine, he trained and served under Dr. Jonathan Wright of Tahoma Clinic, Seattle, WA and continues to utilize their Meridian Valley Labs for specialized testing. Today Dr. Holsworth treats a wide variety of health conditions including cardiovascular conditions, hormone imbalance, auto immune and toxification issues, diabetes, and environmental illness.

Dr. Holsworth has also served as honorary professor, Department of Biology, at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Applied Clinical Thrombosis and Hemostasis and the Japan Nattokinase Research Association. He has been involved in clinical research with oral systemic enzymes and has authored several publications related to antioxidant properties of electrolyzed water and nattokinase, a fibrinolytic enzyme. In addition, he held an advisory role as Director of Clinical and Scientific Research for Essentia Water from 2000-2019.

Prior to his extensive medical training, Dr. Holsworth served as an environmental scientific consultant with the U.S. EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and private sector firms in providing technical assistance on remediation, and environmental cleanups. He received his Baccalaureate of Science, Majoring in Geochemistry from The University of Texas, El Paso in 1985. And from 1977-1981 Dr. Holsworth served in the United States Navy.
